GIMBA

My music making process is heavily mood-based, the kind of music I make per-time depends on how I feel at that moment. I always ensure that the beats I work on correlate with the emotion I'm feeling the most, paying great attention to the melodies and the patterns that make up the beat which would be the chords, samples, loops, the drums, everything. I also love to add good percussion to ignite the African spirit in the beat and give it a good groove. Lastly, I'm a singer who's very particular about my adlibs and I make sure whoever hears it, feels something. I believe the texture of my voice and the melodies I sing make me stand out, and I love to step out of my comfort zone / the box when working. I use a lot of "weird sounds" like chopped up vocal presets that may trigger some feeling in the listener, sometimes it’s my vocals, sometimes it’s synth and pads, just to give the music a new and different feel. I'm a singer but I understand music to the point where I can make beats as well, so I'm always very particular about what I want my music to sound like, which in turn makes me love to create my music from scratch. I am constantly improving and working on myself by listening and exposing myself to so much music from diverse artists to enable me to draw inspiration for a beat or for a melody, and it definitely pays off because I always make something better with each time I create music and make music.
